Retraction, Correction & Article Withdrawal Policy

Retraction, Correction & Article Withdrawal Policy

Samvakti Journals is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the scholarly record. This policy describes how we manage corrections, retractions, withdrawals, updates, and publishing errors in all journals published by Samvakti Pvt. Ltd.

This policy applies to all journals under Samvakti Journals.

1. Purpose of This Policy

The purpose of this document is to ensure that:

  • The published scholarly record remains accurate
  • Errors or ethical concerns are addressed transparently
  • Readers can trust the reliability of the content
  • Authors, editors, and reviewers understand the correction process

This policy is designed in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

2. Corrections (Errata or Corrigenda)

Samvakti Journals maintains the accuracy and integrity of its published scholarly record. Corrections are classified according to their nature and significance.

2.1 Minor Typographical and Production Corrections

Minor errors that do not affect the scientific content, authorship, findings, interpretation, or conclusions of an article may be corrected directly in the published version.

Examples include spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, formatting inconsistencies, incorrect running headers, and pagination or bibliographic formatting errors.

Such corrections are documented in the publisher's internal correction records. A separate public correction notice is generally not required unless the Editorial Office determines that the correction materially affects citation accuracy, article identification, or the reliability of the publication record.

2.2 Substantive Corrections (Errata or Corrigenda)

Errors affecting the accuracy, interpretation, attribution, or reliability of published scholarly information require formal editorial assessment.
Where a correction is warranted, the Editorial Office, in consultation with the relevant Editorial Board member or subject expert where necessary, will arrange an appropriate correction notice linked to the original publication.
The notice will identify the correction and its reason. The original publication record and correction history will be preserved to ensure transparency and traceability.

2.3 Correction Procedure

  1. Authors, readers, reviewers, or editors may report errors to the Editorial Office.
  2. The Editorial Office assesses the nature and significance of the reported error.
  3. Minor production corrections may be implemented directly, with appropriate internal documentation.
  4. Substantive corrections requiring formal notification will be published and linked to the affected article.
  5. Where applicable, corrected bibliographic information will be communicated to relevant indexing and DOI registration services.

Corrections must not be used to conceal research misconduct, misrepresent publication dates, or silently alter scientific findings or conclusions. Matters affecting the validity of the research will be addressed under the applicable research misconduct or retraction procedures.

3. Retractions

A retraction is issued when:

  • There is clear evidence of unreliable findings
  • Data has been fabricated, falsified, or manipulated
  • Plagiarism or duplicate publication is detected
  • Ethical misconduct occurs (including undisclosed conflicts of interest)
  • Major errors invalidate the conclusions
Retraction Principles
  • The retracted article remains available for transparency.
  • A Retraction Notice replaces the article abstract.
  • The PDF is watermarked “Retracted”.
  • The notice explains the reason for retraction and who initiated it (editor or authors).

Retraction decisions are final and cannot be reversed.

4. Article Withdrawal (Pre-Publication)

Authors may request withdrawal before formal publication (before assignment of Volume/Issue/DOI).
A withdrawal is allowed only when:

  • A serious error is discovered
  • The manuscript was submitted accidentally
  • All authors agree to withdraw via written confirmation

Once published and assigned a DOI, an article cannot be withdrawn.
After publication, only correction or retraction is permitted.

5. Removal of Published Content (Extremely Rare)

An article may be removed only when:

  • Required by a court order
  • Content is defamatory, illegal, or poses a serious security risk
  • Ethical violations require complete removal

A Removal Notice will be published in place of the article.

6. Publisher & Editor Rights

Samvakti Journals reserves the full right to:

  • Retract, correct, or update a published article
  • Reject withdrawal requests after publication
  • Conduct investigations in case of ethical concerns
  • Communicate findings with authors’ institutions if necessary

All actions are taken in accordance with COPE standards.

7. Author Responsibilities

Authors must:

  • Ensure accuracy of submitted work
  • Notify the editorial office immediately if errors are discovered
  • Cooperate fully with investigations
  • Agree to correction or retraction when justified

8. No Refund Policy

Samvakti Journals maintains a strict No-Refund Policy for all publication charges (SPC).
SPC fees are non-refundable under all circumstances, including:

  • Withdrawal requested by authors
  • Retraction due to author misconduct
  • Correction of errors
  • Editorial decisions after review

Payment of SPC represents agreement to this policy.
Where applicable, eligible authors may receive credit notes toward future publication charges, strictly in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the Samvakti Publication Charges (SPC) Policy. Credit notes do not constitute monetary refunds.

9. Notification & Transparency

Formal correction notices, retractions, and removal notices will be published promptly, linked to the affected article, made freely accessible to readers, and communicated to relevant indexing and DOI registration services where applicable.

Minor typographical and production corrections that do not require formal public notification will be documented internally in accordance with Section 2 of this policy.

Samvakti Journals is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record.
